It all started with a short bike ride to the subway station. Mike had no kickstand so he needed somewhere to lean his bike....enter handy subway entrance building. I on the other hand just found space! Mine is somewhere in the photo below. See all those bikes? Everyone rides here. This is just a small percentage of the bikes at this subway entrance. You just pray no one's bike falls over or they all do!! This is picture heavy.
Beard papa! They sell cream puffs...I found it amusing that they actually call them healthy. The one peeking out of the bag was 'Crispy Chocolate with cappuccino cream".

Funny little rolls at a bakery. |

Chicken feet...have not indulged!! |
Meat arrayed in the grocery store. It is sitting in shaved ice. Just grab a bag and take what you want. If you are lucky there are tongs somewhere or else you just put a bag on one hand and use that to pick it up:) Living the life!!
The outdoor markets are not quite like this as you will see below. The outdoor market was the main point of taking this excursion.

Dried noodles of all sorts |

Mike checking out some delicious oranges. |
Looking over some apples and oranges, showing the scope of this market. Much larger than the one I posted about before. They even have a used clothing area and some fabric stalls. And several eating spots too. Mike had been here before we came and didn't even realize it had so much.
The man below is making fresh noodles. We bought a bag, maybe a pound, about 35 cents....They were great.
|
Live eels for dinner anyone? |
|
Pick your fowl, any fowl you please! |
Riding home with our bounty. Mike is carrying a gift for Wang Cheng, we also got a small gift for his 11 year old daughter. His pack is full of the vegetables from the market and I have a bunch more in my bike basket which you can just see in the picture with my shadow.....taking pictures while riding!!!
Love, fondly, sincerely,
zaijian,
Ramona
