So...here we have jade pieces, and other fun stuff.
I don't know what these red pieces are. Perhaps Carnelian?
These didn't look like jade, maybe some type of quartz.
Stone bracelets and beads.
Care to count??
Fancy little jewelry boxes.
Brass or bronze, little statues. You name it there seemed to be a statue available. Some styles more popular than others.
More beads, some strung, some loose.
This gentleman was tapping this pointed tool on a polished marble slab. Depending on the density of his taps he created these pictures. Brings new meaning to pointillism. He worked from the picture on the right, doing it all freehand.
Mike loves this dragon we have checked him out thoroughly both times we have been here. He is about three feet tall. He may have to come home with us some day:)
Waiting for our food in a veerryyy Chinese restaurant. After which I went home and was promptly ill for the next 24 hours!!
Bargaining is how you buy things here. Now that I know my numbers in Chinese it is a lot more fun. I got a bracelet made of little wooden beads. At some of the little booths I would ask how much and they type into their little calculator 450, I just look at them like they are crazy and walk away.....We head around to the next aisle where a man is selling them for 20.....I offer 15 and he takes it. They see a non Chinese and they think they have a sucker on their hands....If they only asked something reasonable they would have made a sale.
Love, fondly, sincerely,
zaijian,
Ramona
